A landmark business campus that rethinks the traditional office environment, focusing on community, connectivity and the environment

Broadway Malyan has designed the architecture and interior amenity spaces for Google Ananta. This landmark campus is one of Google’s largest offices worldwide, comprising a 12-storey business hub that reimagines the traditional workplace. With some of the largest single floorplates in India, it accommodates over 7,000 employees.

Located in India's tech capital Bengaluru, Ananta is one of Google’s most ambitious ground-up developments. Its name, derived from the Sanskrit word for ‘infinite’ or ‘limitless’, reflects the campus’s commitment to collaboration, innovation and sustainability.

The campus design adopts a fluid and dynamic form, giving the building a softer appearance, while its asymmetry enhances natural light, comfort and access to amenities. At 180m wide and over 100m deep, the building’s considerable mass is broken down at the corners, creating a series of breaks and focal points. A flowing façade wrap unifies and softens the elevation.

Each working floor follows a city grid layout for easy navigation. ‘Neighbourhoods’ encourage collaboration, while quieter spaces offer focus, natural light and views of green spaces. Accessibility is integrated throughout, with tactile flooring, accessible amenities, and braille details.

At the heart of the building is ‘Sabha’, a vast town hall space on the ground floor, functioning like an urban square—bringing people together and serving as an exciting, memorable centrepiece from which everything else flows.

Ananta’s innovative use of electrochromic glass, sky gardens and sustainable systems minimises its environmental impact. The campus recycles 100% of its wastewater, harvests hundreds of litres of rainwater on-site and features one of India’s largest smart glass installations to reduce energy consumption.

Inspired by Bengaluru's reputation as India's Garden City, the grounds feature 8,000 sq ft of landscaped areas, designed to counter the heat island effect and increase resilience to climate change. These spaces are ideal for casual meetings and peaceful breaks.

"The opening of Google Ananta marks a significant milestone in the evolution of the modern workplace. This campus reimagines the office environment as a dynamic space that fosters collaboration, well-being and sustainability. We are proud to have played a part in creating a space that not only meets the needs of today’s workforce but also sets a new benchmark for how businesses can engage with their environments in a responsible and meaningful way."
