Our design response was inspired by the local neighbourhood, which is evolving from a historic manufacturing district into a cultural hub for Lisbon. The role as a key part of this modern workplace community was also carefully considered. This influence is reflected in the design through the use of colour, textures and prints, drawing inspiration from both the modern and traditional Portuguese vernacular with local elements like the iconic tiles and calçada paved streets.
A new office environment that prioritises collaborative spaces, redefining individual choice in the workplace.
Broadway Malyan has completed the interior fit-out of a new 8,000 sqm headquarters for a leading global financial institution in Lisbon, spanning four floors and accommodating 1350 seats. The brief centred on creating a workplace that fosters collaboration in a comfortable environment, with the design drawing inspiration from the local area and company's core brand values.
The floorplates have been divided into neighbourhoods, each offering flexible working spaces. The design prioritises collaboration, with 70% of the area dedicated to collaborative spaces rather than traditional workstations. These include informal lounge areas and “park benches” promoting spontaneous interaction and encouraging people to come together in a collaborative spirit.
Additionally, there are more intimate spaces, enclosed focus zones and a quiet library space, creating a versatile environment that accommodates diverse working styles and provides individuals with the choice of how and where they work.
