CIBIS Placemaking

A contemporary business park with an exciting landscape and identity

CIBIS Business Park is a 12 Ha strategic masterplan developed to regenerate an existing business area and create a vibrant, new office community in Jakarta. The scheme comprises a total of nine towers arranged around a central plaza.

The design is inspired by the Javenese planning concept of the ‘alun alun’ – the traditional town square and heart of civic activity. The square features a Banyan tree, which is a symbol of power and success in Javanese culture.

Landscaping is fundamental to the identity, performance and attractiveness of a place. At CIBIS Business Park, a large focus of the design has been on the quality of the public realm and its role in encouraging people to want to work at the site.

A high quality palette of materials was deployed throughout the scheme, complementing the character of the site and enforcing its attractiveness and unique identity. The aim was to create a welcoming place where people aspired to work, while unifying the spaces and routes within the site, favouring safety and accessibility.

The scheme was enriched with high quality paving and a wide variety of vegetation, from trees to bushes and grasses to add greenery. Visitors are welcomed to the now complete Tower 9 by a unique reflective pool, surrounded by a range of plantings and bespoke artworks which create an appealing and impactful sense of arrival.

The design prioritises pedestrians to provide a walkable, open space for people to enjoy. As the other towers are added to the site we will maintain this approach, ensuring that each building is sensitively connected to the wider development through beautiful landscaping.
