One large 'superlab' has been designed, accommodating 96 students in total, or sub-divided into two similar smaller teaching groups of 64 and 32. This space provides the EEPE faculty with flexible teaching for multiple electron and power courses.
Immersive teaching technology is included throughout, including a teaching station with full HD recording equipment allowing the lecturer to record demonstrations which can be broadcast across large displays throughout the laboratory.
Two smaller project labs, dedicated to final year students have been provided alongside a specialist soldering lab for 39 students.
By bringing these previously disparate and out-dated facilities into one location, the adjacency benefits for sharing equipment and flexibility for teaching has dramatically improved.
The creation of the Student Society Lab offers a unique space that students can identify as their own, providing opportunity for communication and collaboration.
