The studio launched Think Tanks Broadway Malyan in 2019, a new forum that invited experts from across the property sector and beyond to discuss the latest trends in design and the future of real estate.
Broadway Malyan’s Madrid studio has joined forces with one of Spain’s most prestigious schools of architecture for a series events focused on the future of the built environment.
The Think Tanks were halted during the pandemic but the series is now being relaunched as IE-BM Think Tanks following the new partnership with the Madrid-based IE School of Architecture and Design.
The first of the new events, and the 14th since the original Think Tanks were launched, is set to take place at the Roca Madrid Gallery at 12.30pm on June 15th focusing on the future of retail.
On the panel will be Ion Saralegui from Eurofund Group, Lola Banon from Carrefour Property, Thibault Coatanea from Frey and Eduardo Ceballos from Neinver while the event will be chaired by the head of Broadway Malyan’s Madrid studio Jorge Ponce and Cristina Mateo from IE School of Architecture and Design.
Three further events in September, October and November are also planned exploring the future of offices, hospitality and mixed use.
Jorge said: “IE is one of the most important international architecture and design schools in the world and as a leading international practice, there are many synergies between our two organisations.
“These events have been a huge success and so it is fantastic to have made this connection with IE as part of our commitment to building lasting and meaningful relationships with key business schools and universities, developing a laboratory of ideas across the areas in which we work.”
Cristina, who is Vice Dean at the IE School of Architecture and Design, added: “Building close relationships with the professional sector is hugely valuable in terms of applied research and teaching projects and so we are delighted to be collaborating with Broadway Malyan for this excellent series of Think Tanks.”
